Ciattarelli says N.J. Supreme Court got borrowing decision wrong - New Jersey Globe
Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli slammed the New Jersey Supreme Court for allow Gov. Phil Murphy to borrow up to $10 million to fill budget shortfalls created by the coronavirus.
The top court’s ruling was unanimous.
That is why it is so infuriating and disappointing to see the Court reverse course and approve Governor Murphy’s reckless $10 billion borrowing scheme today,” said Ciattarelli, a former assemblyman who is the only announced candidate seeking to take on Murphy next year.
“Let me be blunt – the Court got this wrong and the consequences for generations of taxpayers will be catastrophic,” he said.
Ciattarelli called the unanimous ruling “another slap in the face to New Jersey taxpayers who have for too long been victimized by irresponsible Trenton politicians.”
