Ciattarelli slams Murphy for avoiding Biden question - New Jersey Globe
Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli today called out Gov. Phil Murphy for refusing to comment on allegations of sexual assault leveled against the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden.
“Accusations of sexual assault or harassment must always be taken seriously, and the accused should be afforded due process. Unfortunately, Governor Murphy operates with an obscene double standard on this issue,” said Ciattarelli, a former assemblyman who is the only announced candidate to take on Murphy in 2021.
Ciattarelli thinks there is some two-facedness to the governor’s unwillingness to weigh in on Biden.
“On one hand, he believes without reservation accusations against certain individuals, while at the same time ignoring or sweeping under the rug accusations from those who work for him like Katie Brennan or Julie Roginsky, or accusations against Joe Biden,” he stated. “How convenient. That’s not leadership. New Jersey deserves better.”
