Sheriff Jim Gannon & Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce Endorse Jack Ciattarelli for Governor
Morris GOP leaders: Ciattarelli is the strongest candidate to take on Gov. Murphy
Somerville, December 9, 2020 – Morris County Sheriff Jim Gannon and Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce became the first Republican leaders in vote-rich Morris County to publicly endorse Jack Ciattarelli for Governor, calling him the right candidate to defeat Phil Murphy in 2021 and provide a down ballot boost to Republicans running in tough races around the state.
Gannon, the popular Sheriff who won a landslide second term in 2019, said it was Ciattarelli, the person, who won his support.
“Jack has the passion and commitment we need at the top of our ticket next year,” said Sheriff Gannon.  “Jack is solutions oriented and he’s got a proven track record in both the private and public sector.  But what stands out the most is the kind of person he is.  He’s a family man and his heart and soul are 100% into fixing New Jersey. He’s earned my support.”
DeCroce, a proven vote-getter in both primary and general elections, said that Ciattarelli is the kind of leader the NJGOP needs to win back the governorship, and also boost GOP chances of picking up legislative, county, and local seats across Morris County and the state.
“I served with Jack in the State Assembly and saw firsthand his willingness to tackle tough issues and put common sense ideas into action,” said Assemblywoman DeCroce.  “Jack is the kind of candidate who will appeal to the suburban voters we need to take back local seats here in Morris County, and put our party on offense across the entire state.”
Ciattarelli called the endorsements “humbling.”
“To earn the support of Sheriff Gannon and Assemblywoman DeCroce speaks volumes about the kind of coalition we are building across the party and across our state,” said Ciattarelli.  “These are people who know how to win elections and also take governing seriously. They are exactly the kind of people and public servants I want on my team in 2021.”
