GOP Candidate says Sanctuary State and City Policies must end and law enforcement officers across the state should start cooperating with Trump Administration
SOMERVILLE – Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Jack Ciattarelli today made public an email provided to his campaign, which details efforts by the Murphy Administration to ignore National Crime Information Center (NCIC) “Hits” regarding outstanding administrative warrants related to alleged illegal immigrants in New Jersey. The email warns State Police personnel at all levels against assisting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with any immigration enforcement efforts – going so far as to conceal “NCIC hits” / administrative warrants from officers on the street in an effort to thwart federal immigration enforcement.
NCIC is a comprehensive computer database managed by the FBI that provides law enforcement agencies across the United States with vital criminal justice information, including criminal history records.
“The fact that my campaign received this email is evidence that brave and courageous law enforcement officers throughout New Jersey are angry about being handcuffed by liberal Democrat policies in Trenton, making our communities less safe,” said Ciattarelli, who made clear he doesn’t lay the blame with State Police Superintendent, Colonel Callahan. “The blame goes to Governor Murphy, Attorney General Platkin, and the Democrat legislature for mandating absurd policies like the Immigrant Trust Directive.”
“Let me be clear, I will repeal the Democrats’ Sanctuary State policies on Day One of my administration, prohibit any municipality from declaring itself a Sanctuary City, and empower our State Police with the tools needed to keep us safe,” said Ciattarelli. “When I am governor, this nonsense ends on Day One. We will be partners with the Trump Administration in fixing our immigration system and restore law and order.”
Apparently sent to State Police Personnel on March 24th, the email is intended to warn officers on the street against cooperating with ICE and block efforts by President Trump to clean up our immigration mess.
“Our law enforcement officers on the street need to be fully informed about the people they are encountering in the course of doing their jobs – hiding key information from them to further some ultra-liberal political agenda is unacceptable,” concluded Ciattarelli.
